1
Bangkok - Nan
Day 1: After your flight, it’s time to check-in and relax in the beguiling little town of Nan, one of our favourite places to soak up Thai culture. Explore the town’s markets and temples at leisure, before your welcome briefing, dinner and vehicle check.

Nan - Bo Klua - 161 kms
Day 2: Gear up for an unforgettable riding day, packed with mountain passes, remote villages and plenty of photo opp viewpoints. We’re making for the ancient salt wells of Boklua, high in the mountains of Nan. (Google Map)

Bo Klua - Phulangka - 253 kms
Day 3: After breakfast, we continue north on R1081 to the Huai Kon border with Laos. Then it’s time to tackle the most beautiful stretch of mountain road in Thailand, the R101/R1097 towards Phulangka. (Google Map)

Phulangka - Chiang Khong - 206 kms
Day 4: Another scenic morning today as we head to Chiang Khong, a border city that’s a gateway to China. We’ll continue along locals roads, passing the waterfall of Phu Sang National park, the cloud forest of Phu Chi Fah and the mountain of Doi Pha Tang, before riding down to Chiang Khong. (Google Map)

Chiang Khong - Doi Tung - 131 kms
Day 5: Depart early on our journey tracing the Mekong River to Chiang Saen. This is Golden Triangle Country, and we’ll visit the The Hall of Opium Museum and Mae Sai Boundary Post to find out a little more about the region’s history, before heading up the mountain road along the border with Myanmar towards Doi Tung. Day 6: Enjoy some free time before check-out and your shuttle bus transfer to Chiang Rai airport.

Ultimate Mountain Roads
This tour has several variables that affect its cost, including;
- Choice of motorcycles: in ascending order of cost – Honda CRF250L or CBX500, BMW G310GS, F700GS, F800GS or F1200GS.
- Bringing your own Motorcycle? If you have a bike in Asia, or want to ship yours in, we can make that work for you.
- Pillion Passenger: riding with a companion is no problem.
- Accommodation: base rate is based on sharing a room, but single occupancy is available at 200€.
The base rate for one person, riding one of our Honda CRF250L’s, sharing a twin room, and with no pillion rider is: €1,500
